Global Product Manager Biopesticides & Biostimulants
BioFirst Group is a global leader in biological crop protection and sustainable agriculture, helping growers produce healthy, resilient crops while reducing their reliance on conventional chemical inputs. With 32 production and distribution subsidiaries, more than 3,000 employees worldwide, and a strong network of specialised distributors, BioFirst supplies growers in more than 70 countries every week.
Within BioFirst Group, Biobest is internationally recognised for its expertise in biological crop protection and pollination. Our diverse portfolio includes beneficial insects, predatory mites, nematodes and bumblebees, as well as monitoring and scouting technologies and an expanding range of complementary biological solutions, such as biopesticides and biostimulants.
As we continue to expand our biopesticide and biostimulant portfolio and strengthen its position across international markets, we are looking for a Global Product Manager Biopesticides & Biostimulants to help shape the global product strategy and turn market, customer and technical insights into successful product development and commercial growth.
Your mission
As Global Product Manager Biopesticides & Biostimulants, you take full ownership of Biobest's biopesticide and biostimulant portfolio. You act as Biobest's primary counterpart for all matters relating to the biopesticide and biostimulant pipeline — supply, forecasting, joint planning, and new product introductions — while ensuring the expanded portfolio is integrated smoothly into Biobest's commercial, regulatory, and supply chain structures. Given the complexity of supplier relationships and the seniority required to lead a direct report, this role requires proven product management experience and the maturity to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Key responsibilities
Portfolio Ownership
- Manage the assigned product portfolio at group level to ensure market relevance, competitiveness, and long-term profitability.
- Gather local and global market insights to identify gaps, risks, and growth opportunities in the portfolio.
- Develop portfolio strategies, business cases, and marketing plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders and local teams.
- Lead make-or-buy and branding decisions for the portfolio in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
- Lead the planning and execution of new product launches, ensuring alignment across regulatory, supply chain, and commercial teams from business case through market introduction.
Supplier Management
- Own and develop relationships with key third-party suppliers and biopesticide technology partners, including commercial terms, supply continuity, and co-investment discussions on registrations.
- Act as Biobest's senior point of contact for the demand-planning interface with partner teams: forecasting, purchase and inventory alignment, and jointly agreed volume and sales planning across core markets.
Collaboration with Regulatory & Compliance
- Lead the Regulatory & Compliance Officer reporting into this role, who is responsible for labels, third-party product obligations, and registrations.
- Ensure regulatory strategy is embedded in commercial and innovation decisions.
- Represent the category in Stage Gate governance, ensuring registration and compliance milestones are reflected in launch planning.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with field demand-generation teams to ensure trial and proof-of-concept work translates into captured sales through Biobest's local teams.
Product Knowledge & Commercial Support
- Build and maintain strong product expertise and act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders.
- Support global sales and marketing teams with product information, tools, training, and strategic input tailored to local markets.
- Monitor category performance (volume, margin, registration pipeline) and adjust portfolio strategy accordingly.
Your profile
- Master's degree in Plant Sciences, Bio-engineering, Agriculture, or a related field. Phytolicense is required.
- Significant experience in product management, portfolio management, or business development within biopesticides, crop protection, or a related regulated agricultural category.
- Demonstrated experience managing external supplier or technology-partner relationships at a commercial level.
- Strong affinity with regulatory processes in crop protection (registrations, labels, compliance) is a strong asset, given the close collaboration with the Regulatory & Compliance Officer.
- Proven ability to own a category or portfolio with full commercial and strategic accountability.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior management and external partners.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
- Strong analytical and business case development skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across cross-functional and international teams.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
