IT Director

To support our continued international growth, we are looking for an IT Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of IT across the entire BioFirst Group.

Your mission

As IT Director you will lead the IT organization from headquarters in Westerlo, Belgium while driving the transformation towards one unified global IT organization. You will connect local IT teams, establish common standards, strengthen cybersecurity and help integrate newly acquired companies into a scalable global IT landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and further develop the BioFirst IT department, consisting of approximately 20 IT professionals across Applications, Infrastructure and Data & Reporting.
  • Coach and empower team leads while creating a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure reliable, secure and high-performing IT services for the organizations supported by BioFirst IT.
  • Drive the transition towards one integrated global IT organization across all BioFirst entities.
  • Chair the international IT Leadership Team and strengthen collaboration between local IT organizations.
  • Develop and implement group-wide IT governance, architecture and standardization.
  • Define and execute the roadmap for consolidating systems, processes and technologies across the group.
  • Lead the development of a global cybersecurity strategy and governance framework.
  • Expand and optimize shared services such as Microsoft 365, SAP and future expert services.
  • Oversee IT budgets, vendors and strategic technology partnerships.
  • Support acquisitions by leading the IT integration of newly acquired companies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on IT strategy, risks and digital transformation.

What you bring

  • At least five years of relevant leadership experience within an international IT environment.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise IT, including infrastructure, cloud environments, cybersecurity, business applications (e.g. ERP, CRM) and datawarehousing.
  • Experience with SAP environments; and international ERP roll-outs is a major advantage.
  • Experience establishing IT governance, standards and policies across multiple entities.
  • Experience integrating IT organizations after acquisitions or mergers is highly valued.
  • A strategic leader who easily translates business strategy into IT priorities.
  • A people-focused coach who develops teams while driving accountability and results.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical specialists and senior business leaders.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English. French is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
