Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer

These living creatures are ordered, bred, packaged, and shipped in various types, quantities, ages, and with different nutritional supplements.

Today we are welcoming an Operational Excellence Engineer who will play a key role in enhancing the operational efficiency, optimizing processes, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across production, supply chain, logistics and quality control.

The job and key responsibilities

As Operational Excellence Engineer you keep a hands-on approach in identifying improvement opportunities, developing solutions, and ensuring their successful implementation. Summed up you will:

  • Actively review practices, workflows and systems to identify opportunities and advise on appropriate interventions for process improvements that impact production and business results and champion waste eliminations and reduction.
  • Design, develop, and implement effective solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. This includes creating and updating process documentation and workflows, and ensuring they are sustained by the business.
  • Drive improvement projects across various department (including production, supply chain, logistics, and quality control), utilizing standardized OPEX tools and methods to enhance performance.
  • Facilitate Change Management:
    • Work closely with department heads and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on improvement goals and priorities. Facilitate workshops and meetings to brainstorm solutions and gain buy-in for proposed changes.
    • Engage with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Provide training and support to employees at all levels to encourage the adoption of new processes and tools.
  • Ensure that all improvements and changes comply with industry regulations and company quality standards. Promote a safety-first culture by incorporating health and safety considerations into all process improvements.
  • Encourage innovative thinking and explore new technologies or methodologies that could further enhance operational excellence within the company.
  • Monitor Improvement progress and sustain transformational gains over time through continued metric review and consultation with key stakeholders.

Your profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Track record of delivery of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Methodologies and software systems:
    • Strong knowledge – set in practice – of Lean six sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
    • Knowledge of ERP management systems, preferably SAP
    • Knowledge and strong working competence in MS Office toolset
  • Results oriented, with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information from a variety of sources.
  • Ability to see the big picture translating details into an organizational perspective.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change in a collaborative manner. Strong influencing skills to gain support and commitment from stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business needs.
